Mr. JG - Somewhere, AL -This is a 59 year old man with a long history of uncontrolled pain despite high doses of narcotics. He just could not believe he was getting better within 2 weeks after a proper diagnosis and treatment plan - that is, Fibromyalgia-Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunctional Syndrome (FM-CFIDS) treated with Dr. St. Amand's Guaifenesin Protocol and my personal comprehensive pain treatments. Unfortunately, most of his doctors just focused on his prior neck surgeries as the main source of his problem.

Here is his recent e-mail to me on Fri 9/21/2001 1:12 PM:

"To Whom It May Concern:

I have been seeing Dr Gatell for pain management since the first part of September.  I have been in extreme pain for the last four years and have had pain in my legs all my life. My life spans many years, almost 60, which may tell you why I am very emotional.

Prior to seeing Dr Gatell, I was taking as much as 360 MG of OxyContin a day.  I had been at 240 MG a day when I walked into his office - a crawl or stumbling may be more appropriate.

After driving for an hour or more, I needed help to get out of my truck. Bending over was a major challenge and dressing myself was becoming a difficult operation.

I am a tough guy - an airborne and ranger - with 30 years in the Army,  but I had shed many a tear in the last four years. I have three metal plates in my neck as well as multiple sclerosis (MS).

As God is my witness, within two weeks I am doing things I did before all of this.  I catch myself bending over now without thinking. I hated to walk because my feet burned so bad and hurt so much it was almost impossible to manage. I hated to go anywhere with my wife like shopping.  I do not feel the pain any where near as much now.  I could hardly hold a pen to write or hold the wheel of my truck to drive - Now I do it without thinking.

I have already reduced my pain medication by 80MG a day just within two weeks.

Honestly, I am scared to death that it is not real and I am going to start hurting again and not have the pain medication.  I feel like for the first time in four years I am not doped up.  I could not remember a phone number from the phone book to the telephone.  Now no problem.  I am actually sleeping 3-4 fours at a time now.

It is almost like a miracle which is why I am having a hard time accepting what is happening to my body.  It is coming too quick and too good and I am waiting on the crash.

Has anyone experienced the tremendous change that I have?

...God Bless America and God Bless Dr Gatell!!

Signed

Interested"
