Dr. Gatell's Early Childhood - Age 2 to 4: 1959-1961

My parents and friends in June 1959 - I am 2 years old here, between the pregnant women - my Mom on my left side pregnant with my brother Bobby, and Mirian and Ben to the right of me - very close friends of the family just about forever.

Here I am in July 1959 at Age 2. I still have this pensive-look on most days when I listen to my patients...it is a honing-in eagle-like focus and concentration that helps me really "see" my patients problems versus just "knowing" about my patients problems.

Here I am in February 1960 at Age 3 in that favorite Long Island City park that I enjoyed so much. The is a fenced-in water sprinkler and pool behind me. I still remember spending many hours playing in the pool during the summer months. The next picture shows the same area of this park 44 years later - the kiddie pool was removed, but note the beautiful New York City skyline - the Big Apple !
