"THE DAY I MET JESUS"

             8/2001 - HeavenLeigh

I must hurry to the river,

Where I hear there is a man,

Who can walk upon the water,

And do as no other man can!

I have just got to see who he is,

Can it be true? And how can it be?!

They even say he blesses those who live,

By his Father's laws, and following him faithfully.

As I draw draw closer, now ever so near,

Passing through the crowds, so I can see....

I am close enough now to hear,

Him talk of his love for you and me!

I stand in astounding awe, such a new joy I feel!

His gracious words took me by complete surprise,

And then I knew his words of love were truly real,

For he smiled as he looked deeply into my tearful eyes!

There is a special kind of glow,

Of truth and innocence upon his face,

This man is someone I am eager to come to know,

This special teacher who shines with grace!

I listen intently to his gentle words of love,

For any and all who will follow him,

He proclaims to be the Son of our God above,

And was sent to save us from our sins!

This man, who's name I learned is Jesus,

His teachings are as wise as his heart is pure!

I realize this man Jesus is all I really need,

As I watch him do miracles that cure!

Jesus stands close to me now,

And I watch a woman wash his feet,

My soul is flooded with a new peace as I bow,

And whisper his precious name on bended knee.

The peace and joy which engulfed my very being,

Was that of my new faith, and for him the deepest love,

So overwhelmed was I by this wonderous feeling,

I shouted praises to Jesus, the Son of our God above!!

My sins are forgiven, he said to me...

Through faith in him my tattered spirit is free!

And though our meeting was brief, and we must part...

It won't be forever, for he shall always live in my heart!

The day he was so cruely crucified,

Such anguish I felt tearing up my insides!

It haunted my very soul, the sight I did see,

But once more, he looked down to say he loves me.

And then I knew deep inside,

That he too, would soon be free!!!!

Free to rise to his heavenly home above,

Into his father's arms, the God we love!

To reign beside him in all his glory,

As we, his diciples, go on to tell his story!!!

                      "LIFE'S PATHS "

                                 8/2001 HeavenLeigh

There are many paths to take,

During our short time here on Earth.

So many decisions to have to make-

Practically from the time of our birth.

Many obsticals are put before us all,

As we travel down these paths.

Sometimes we make a wrong turn and fall,

And we need someone bigger than we to help us get back.

That someone bigger can only be God,

The only one strong enough to put our minds at ease,

And only through his guidance can we saftely trod,

Down the paths towards truth, love and peace.

So at the times we choose the wrong way,

It's good to know that someone is always there.

To point us back on the paths from which we stray,

Someone bigger than we, someone in whom we can trust.

              " A CHILD'S PRAYER TO GOD "

Dear God, please turn on the stars,

I hate going to bed when it's so dark!

And will you send some stardust on an angel's wing?

So all my dreams will be sweet dreams.

God, as you know, my Granny is kinda sickly,

And the reason I know is she says she's feeling ickey.

So if you will please heal her as she sleeps,

Cause you know Grannies are special ones to keep!

And God tomorrow I start my new school,

Will you please help me learn the Golden Rule?

Please bless my mommie and my daddy too.....

Oh and don't forget Dear God, to bless you!!!

Well, thank you God for hearing my prayer,

I sure hope it doesn't take too long to get up there.
